Shared Gravity

A collaborative series by Lauren Ottley & Alicia Urbanski

Two artists, one canvas.

Shared Gravity is a collaborative series of large-scale paintings exploring the invisible emotional forces that exist between people, memory, intimacy, and transformation. The collection grew from two distinct artistic voices, Ottley and Urbanski, learning how to exist together within the same visual space while still maintaining their individuality.

Rather than trying to force the work into one unified aesthetic, the collaboration intentionally allowed for contrast to remain visible. Emotionally charged texture moves beside quiet restraint, openness, and abstract floral passages, creating work that feels layered both physically and psychologically.

In this series, Ottley and Urbanski sought to visually communicate their interest in the tension between autonomy and connection and how separate people, experiences, and emotional histories intertwine while the artists remain fully themselves.
