Meet abstract artist Michele Schubkegel
Artist Statement:
“My work alludes to the ambiguous world of the indeterminate in which elements fuse into other elements as that nothing is defined, and all categories are erased. It oscillates between representation and abstraction, light/dark, unworldly/worldly, with real space and invented space. Unresolved tensions leave unanswered questions. Ambiguity results when force cannot dominate another.
My work strives to give form to the inner world of dense feelings and chaotic impulses inherent in my life. I wish to evoke a sense of mystery equivalent to that which I feel. Reality – life as apparition, versus concrete. Enhancing consciousness by converting shadow into forms, which build my interior existence. These art works are my imprints.”
